NZC Communications

OK so NZC and David White post a communique on their BLACKCAPS website announcing their findings on the Shane Bond fallout.  What has been evident throughout the processes of the past few years is their inability to actually communicate and they cover that quite well in their release:

“After much investigation NZC’s final conclusion is that the problems that arose over the captaincy issue were the result of misunderstanding and poor communication between the parties involved.”

So what do NZC cricket do?  Well before Christmas they stated after the shambles of the press conferences that they will be hiring media types to help improve their public relations department.  Yet in their release they write:

“At this point it now serves no useful purpose for NZC to dwell on who may have said what to whom or make any further comment on such speculation. We need to concentrate on the three remaining ODIs in South Africa and the challenging tour by England next month. It is vital New Zealand Cricket now looks forwards not backwards.

That's a romantic notion NZC.  Surely with all the foul ups of the past NZC Cricket should be looking backwards at every step to ensure the crap they have served up of late is not replicated in the future.  And let's be honest, the CEO and Board Members are still in place and as we all know when in a position of influence, the past dogs you.  Surely this means that the CEO and the Board must face a vote of No Confidence, as well as the Coach.  It's a given if that same cartel is in place come England then things will only get worse, not better.  If a ship has a gouge along the whole of it's length it will sink and nothing will stop that unless someone takes away the water around it. Someone please take Cricket away from the current administrators, they are sinking the game.
